the Role

Organon is seeking a senior automation engineering leader to own and scale enterprise infrastructure automation across on‑premises and cloud environments.

This role leads a team of automation engineers, with Ansible as the primary automation platform, and plays a key role in shaping Organon’s future AI‑driven infrastructure operations.

This position combines people leadership, hands‑on technical direction, and strategic ownership of automation platforms that improve reliability, security, and speed at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of automation engineers

Set goals, manage performance, and support career development

Drive hiring and promote strong engineering standards and culture

Infrastructure Automation

Own and govern Organon’s enterprise Ansible practice

Design scalable playbooks, roles, collections, and dynamic inventory

Lead adoption of Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)

Automate on‑prem infrastructure (servers, OS patching, network, storage)

Eliminate manual operational tasks through reliable automation

Cloud & IaC

Design Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform across AWS, Azure, and GCP

Build CI/CD and self‑service automation pipelines

Support FinOps, tagging, cost visibility, and governance automation

DevOps / Reliability

Integrate automation with observability and monitoring platforms

Support self‑healing and SRE‑aligned practices

Partner with application and platform teams

AI Operations (Growing Scope)

Define and execute infrastructure AI roadmap

Enable AI‑driven remediation, anomaly detection, and capacity planning

Support reliable AI workload operations in production

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or automation engineering

3+ years of people management experience

Deep hands‑on Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform expertise

Strong Terraform and CI/CD experience

Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP

Knowledge of containers, observability, and modern DevOps practices

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

Experience in regulated or life sciences environments

Security, compliance‑as‑code, or governance automation background

FinOps or cloud cost optimization exposure

AI/ML infrastructure or AIOps experience

Relevant Ansible or cloud certifications
