Data Engineer – Hybrid (Lisbon)

What we are looking for

Hard skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (Semarchy, Stambia, Talend, DataStage, or similar); ability to design and maintain data integration processes.
  • Proficient SQL skills; experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake) and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience with VTOM or Virtual-M (or comparable job orchestration/workload automation tools); ability to
  • Knowledges of UNIX/Linux scripting (shell scripting, awk, sed, Python as a plus) for automation and data processing tasks.
  • Data engineering mindset: knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT patterns, data quality, data lineage, and metadata management.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French-speaking is a plus.

Ability to collaborate with French-speaking stakeholders and teams.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP) and cloud-native ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data cataloging, and security practices.
  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices for data pipelines.
