The Group Leader Software Development / Software Engineering Manager will oversee and guide a team of software developers within the industrial/manufacturing of IoT devices related to Public Security Management.

This role is based in Ovar - Aveiro region and requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure project success and team efficiency.

Description

Manage and lead a team of software developers to achieve project objectives.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee software development projects from inception to completion.

Establish and maintain software engineering processes and best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software development with business goals.

Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are met within deadlines.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency.

Report progress and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Group Leader Software Development / Software Engineering Manager should have:

Hands-on working experience with software development;

Experience with multi-disciplinary product development (HW, FW, SW)

Agile/scrum/kanban/SAFe experience with leading, planning, tracking, scrum master;

Experience with hybrid waterfall/agile projects;

Experience with embedded software;

Experienced in leading multi-site technical teams, connecting, inspiring and motivating people;

Excellent team leadership skills;

Excellent communicator;

Willing to travel between , including international;

Specific knowledge of communications systems is a plus;

Experience as product owner or test architect is a plus.
