Housekeeping Work in Douro, Portugal

Position: Housekeeper / Cleaning Technician (Live-in) Job Description: We are looking for a reliable and responsible Housekeeper to join our guest house team at a wine-making farm in the Douro region, Portugal.

This role is essential to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality for our international guests.

The Housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning indoor and outdoor areas, preparing and serving meals for guests, and ensuring that all spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.

This position includes living on the farm, with a private individual room provided.

Main Responsibilities: -Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common indoor areas -Clean and organize outdoor areas related to the guest house -Maintain high standards of hygiene and personal cleanliness -Prepare and cook simple daily meals -Prepare and serve breakfasts and/or dinners for guest house visitors -Set tables, serve food and drinks, and clean everything after meals -Create shopping lists and assist with grocery shopping -Use environmentally friendly cleaning products and procedures whenever possible -Follow basic preventive maintenance routines to keep spaces in good condition -Ensure that increased guest capacity does not affect the quality of the guest experience -Do laundry and ironing Requirements: -Ability to speak and understand English freely - main language of communication -Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented with a good memory -High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness -Friendly, positive attitude and respectful behavior toward guests and colleagues -No bad habits that could affect work performance or guest experience -Ability to work independently and responsibly -Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality is an advantage -Basic cooking skills are required -If you have valid driving licence and good driving skills that will be an advantage.
