QA Automation Engineer
Opportunity Description: This role offers an exciting opportunity to join an innovative Insurtech , supporting the dynamic London Insurance market.
We are expanding our horizons by establishing a brand-new development capability and office in Portugal.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, performance, robustness, and security of our platform's new releases, thereby safeguarding the integrity of our services within the market.
You will be instrumental in leading the transformation toward AI-powered, automation-first testing.
You will design and implement intelligent test solutions using modern frameworks and GenAI tools, ensuring high-quality delivery across the digital platform.
This role combines traditional automation expertise with next-generation AI-driven testing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Stakeholders: Participate in internal and stakeholder meetings to discuss requirements, identify necessary testing tasks, and design comprehensive test scripts based on in-depth product knowledge.
Defect Management: Identify, document and flag issues promptly as they surface, working closely with business & development teams to ensure timely resolution.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to ensure quality is built into the product from the outset.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship on testing methodologies and tools to other team members.
Product Understanding: Actively participate in the product development process to gain a deep understanding of product growth and capabilities, enabling more effective test coverage.
Automation Frameworks: Develop and maintain automation frameworks for UI and API testing using Playwright, Rest Assured and Postman.
AI Solutions: Implement AI-assisted testing solutions leveraging GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio for self-healing scripts and automated defect creation.
CI/CD: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
Performance: Conduct performance testing using LoadRunner and security testing with Burp Suite Enterprise.
Framework Transformation: Drive legacy migration from older frameworks (e.g., Selenium) to modern solutions like Playwright.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with secure testing principles and industry best practices.
Skills and Experience:
Experience: Experienced Senior Software Testing Engineer with excellent exposure to building automation frameworks.
Test Automation Frameworks: Proven experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.
Familiarity with other frameworks like Selenium is a plus.
API Testing Automation: Strong experience with API Testing Automation tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
Test Management Tools: Experience with Test Management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps Test Plans).
Automated Testing Principles: Deep understanding of automated testing principles, including unit, integration, end-to-end, security and performance testing.
Cloud Experience (Azure): Practical experience with testing applications deployed on the Azure Cloud platform.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform effective root cause analysis.
Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
