Senior Data Engineer – Hybrid (Lisbon)

What we are looking for

Hard skills

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Modeler, or a similar role with a strong focus on data warehousing.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake for data warehousing, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation, version control, testing, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles (e.g., dimensional modeling, data vault) and practical experience in designing and implementing complex data models.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and complex query writing.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Power BI, with a strong emphasis on the backend aspects:

o Developing complex Power BI datasets.

o DAX formula creation and optimization.

o Connecting to various data sources. o Implementing row-level security (RLS).

o Optimizing Power BI data models for performance and scalability.

  • Prior experience with Qlik Sense, particularly understanding its data architecture and data loading mechanisms, to facilitate a smooth transition to Power BI.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data catalog tools.
