Lisbon-based opportunity with hybrid work model.

As a Senior Java Support Engineer – Production Support, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the financial services industry.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing IT systems that support global trade finance operations across France, Asia, and America.

Join us to drive innovation, ensure system resilience, and contribute to seamless financial transactions worldwide.

Your main responsibilities:

Lead investigation and resolution of production incidents to minimize system downtime and impact.

Perform Level 2/3 support, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.

Proactively monitor system health using tools like Grafana and RabbitMQ; analyze logs to diagnose performance and incident issues.

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs and job dependencies within Control-M.

Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.

Automate routine tasks through shell scripting to improve incident response times.

Support application deployments with tools such as Jenkins, XL Release, and XL Deploy following established procedures.

Maintain and update technical documentation, runbooks, and incident reports.

Collaborate closely with teams across Lisbon, Porto, and Paris to coordinate incident resolution and process improvements.

Apply CI/CD practices using Git and Jenkins for bug fixes and system enhancements.

Develop small Java code updates and bug fixes to support system evolution and stability.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

At least 5+ years’ experience in application support, production support, or Java-based technical roles.

Proficiency in Java 8+ and Shell scripting.

Strong knowledge of SQL (Oracle or similar databases).

Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, Grafana, Control-M, Postman, RabbitMQ, and Jira/Confluence.

Familiarity with application servers like JBoss or Tomcat.

Experience with XL Release and XL Deploy is a plus.

Knowledge of DevSecOps / CI/CD best practices.

Language required for the role:

Fluent English

Good command of French is a plus
