Own the Windows core—deliver security, performance, and resilience at expert level.

Lisbon-based opportunity with hybrid work model. (1 remote day per week allowed)

As a Senior Windows Systems Administrator (Expert), you will be working for our client and supporting the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of Windows Server environments.

You’ll help ensure optimal performance and availability while strengthening security and resolving complex technical issues—together with the infra and security teams.

Your main responsibilities:

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Windows Server operating systems and system management tools.

Monitor and manage the performance of Windows systems to ensure availability and stability.

Implement and maintain security measures (with support from the Security team), including access management and security updates.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents in Windows environments, supporting end-users and other IT staff.

Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations and improve system efficiency (PowerShell; also considering Ansible where applicable).

Collaborate closely with infra stakeholders (Network, Wintel, Security) to align system needs and technical solutions.

Work with business users to understand requirements and provide process training where needed.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar Windows systems role (expert level).

In-depth knowledge of Windows environments including GPO, hardening, and automation.

Hands-on experience with SolarWinds for dashboarding, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and SSL VPNs.

Solid scripting skills with PowerShell.

Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex Windows issues independently.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and train users (practical, clear, and professional).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

Azure knowledge.

Familiarity with other monitoring or virtualization tools such as VMware.

Knowledge of ITIL processes for incident and change management.

Language Required for the role :

English (Communicative), expected level B2–C1.
