Porto-based opportunity with hybrid work model

As a Senior Application Support Engineer – Cloud and Automation, you will be working for our client, a leading , performance, and reliability of critical production applications.

You will play a vital role in resolving complex incidents, driving operational improvements, and collaborating across teams to deliver seamless solutions that support global operations.

This is your chance to contribute to innovative cloud and automation initiatives while expanding your career in a dynamic environment.

Your main responsibilities:

Provide advanced support for production applications, including incident investigation, resolution, and root cause analysis.

Lead high-priority incidents end-to-end and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and product teams.

Improve and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational documentation (runbooks, SOPs).

Lead or contribute to operational and enhancement projects (e.g., upgrades, automation, new app rollouts).

Mentor junior support engineers and promote best practices within the team.

Participate in a rotating on-call

Ensure seamless handovers and effective communication of ongoing issues across shifts.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

At least 6 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications.

Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux OS environments.

Hands-on experience with app servers like HAProxy, Apache, IIS.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.

Familiarity with monitoring tools including Zabbix and Grafana.

Experience with middleware solutions like Axway API Gateway.

Knowledge of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Jira.

Experience with scheduling tools like Control-M.

Practical knowledge of DevOps tools including Confluence, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, XLDeploy, XLRelease, and BitBucket.

Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Automation expertise using Terraform and OpenShift.

It is a strong plus if you have:

Certifications or experience in cloud architecture or automation tools.

Additional scripting or programming skills.

Experience working in international or multicultural environments.

Language Required for the role:

Fluent command of English (minimum B2 level).
